Mr. Wasef S. Jabsheh
A key figure in the Middle East region, Mr. Wasef Jabsheh has specialized in marine and energy insurance for more than 40 years in various prominent roles with Kuwait Insurance Co. and with ADNIC from the mid 1970’s to late 80’s. In 1989, Mr. Jabsheh established Middle East Insurance Brokers and two years later, in 1991, founded International Marine & General Insurance Co. Mr. Jabsheh also served as a Board Director with HCC Insurance Holdings Inc. until 1997.
Mr. Paul K. Munday
Mr. Paul Munday has more than 30 years experience in the London and Middle Eastern market, both as a broker and underwriter, spending the last 13 years in London with Commercial Union. He was previously Class Underwriter for the energy account of the C.U. (including both C.G.U. and C.G.N.U.) in both the London company market and, from 1999, with CGU Syndicate 1861 in Lloyds. Mr. Munday has also been a member of the Joint Rig Committee since 1997 and while at the C.U., had full underwriting and management responsibilities for their international energy book since 1996.
Mr. Waleed W. Jabsheh
Mr. Waleed Jabsheh obtained an Honors’ Bachelors of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada in 1998. In June 1998, Mr. Jabsheh began his career at Manulife Reinsurance in Toronto, Canada and later joined LDG Reinsurance Corporation, a subsidiary of Houston Casualty Co., in November 1998. In his last year at LDG Re, Mr. Jabsheh was promoted to Senior Underwriter and was managing a US $30 million book of treaty and facultative business.
Ms. Rachel A. Butler
Ms. Rachel Butler has almost 20 years experience in the London insurance market, initially with a broking house and then moving on to an insurance company in 1996. She has had claims management responsibility in both the company and Lloyd’s markets, assuming the role of claims manager for all the Cotesworth and New market Syndicates in 2001. Ms. Butler has extensive experience handling all aspects of high profile, complex marine and energy claims from first advice to resolution and has represented the interests of the international insurance community as a member of the Toulouse and Petro bras 36 steering committees.
Mr. Soumitra Biswas
Mr. Soumitra Biswas has over 25 years experience on the financial side of the insurance industry and has a Bachelor of Commerce with honors in Advanced Accountancy and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Having held senior management positions with the Life Insurance Corporation of India, he moved to Abu Dhabi where he was appointed Assistant General Manager (Finance & Administration) of Al Khazna Insurance Company.
